_ There are two volumes of P’tit Trot :
In one volume or the other, your child will discover the basics of horsemanship in order to better understand horses, to approach them safely, to take care of them and if he / she desires, to ride them.
There are a few technical differences between the two styles of riding, English and Western. Generally, they involve the equipment, the breeds of horses used, and the training objectives. For example, in English style, riders can jump their horses over fences. In Western style, riders learn the techniques and movements directly inspired by olden day work with cattle.
Your child can be initiated into riding by way of a week at a summer camp, or a session of lessons at a riding school.
While there are differences between English and Western riding, your child will easily be able to switch from one style to the other if he / she wishes to do so.
